The GAO supports Congress in carrying out its constitutional responsibilities and helps to improve the performance and assure accountability of government for the benefit of the American people. In this presentation, Dr. Yager provided a comprehensive synopsis of the roles and functions of the departments within the GAO. Dr. Yager is the Director, International Affairs and Trade Team, of the U.S. Government Accountability Office, where he is responsible for International Trade and related issues. Dr. Yager directed GAO’s Office of the Chief Economist from 1998 to 2000.
